To: All Bow River Basketball Association Members,

We would like to thank our players, parents and coaches for being a part of Bow River South Basketball Association this season.

Over the past few weeks CMBA has brought to our attention, concerning issues about inappropriate behavior involving parents, players and coaches. Several of these complaints are centered around verbal abuse and aggression of CMBA officials, verbal abuse and aggression towards other players, vulgar language, and other types of general unsportsmanlike behavior.

We would like to raise awareness of the MBA policy with respect to conduct and behavior. As outlined in CMBA's Participation Agreement we operate under a governing code of conduct for all coaches, players, parents. CMBA policy is zero tolerance for any inappropriate behavior and unsportsmanlike conduct.

We want to make clear to our association members that Bow River South Basketball Association takes all complaints seriously. If parents and coaches are unable to abide by the rules and conduct themselves in an appropriate manner, then they will not be allowed to attend games.

  • Parents are NOT TO speak to, shout, yell or voice concerns at CMBA Officials.
  • Parents are NOT TO enter the field of play (basketball court, scores table, players benches) before, during or after a game. (Unless you are a coach, or working at the score table).
  • Coaches are NOT TO educate CMBA officials, this includes (prompting calls, expressing negative commentary, expressing threatening behavior or critiquing their job). If you have a concern about a CMBA Official, you are encouraged to use the GAME REPORT format (Located on CMBA website) to express to provide feedback so that the CMBA can help them.
  • Players are NOT TO voice concerns to CMBA Officials, threaten or be aggressive to other players and coaches.

All parents and coaches have signed the participation agreement and need to abide by the rules and
policies outlined in that agreement.

Any participant in our basketball association who is not abiding by the agreement and rules will be subject
to CMBA disciplinary action. Bow River South Basketball Association also reserves the right to remove any
player, coach or parent who is not abiding by the agreement and rules.

Thank you all for helping us to ensure all players experience a safe, respectful and fun season.

Regards,

Todd Mohorich
