Her Time to Coach
Are you ready to step onto the court with confidence and grow as a coach? CMBA is proud to launch “Her Time to Coach”, a unique and FREE coaching clinic designed exclusively for women ages 16 and up.
This is the first time there has been a female at the helm of both the Dinos and Cougars at the USports level and this one-of-a-kind event brings together two of the city’s top USports women’s basketball head coaches, Robyn Fleckenstein (Mount Royal University, Team Canada U16 Assistant Coach) and Sarah Besselink (University of Calgary, Team Ontario U15 Head Coach), to share their expertise, passion, and experience.
Participants will gain both on-court and off-court education, with practical skills, strategies, and insights that will help you at any level of coaching. Whether you’re brand new or looking to sharpen your game.
No CMBA membership or prior coaching experience is required. All ages and experience levels are welcome!

New to the Game (Parents & Coaches): 9:00-10:30 AM
- This session is open to everyone who wants to learn more about the game of basketball. Robyn and Sarah will guide attendees through the basics of basketball development and growth. Whether you're a parent, new coach, family member, or anyone else close to the game this is a great way to learn more and build confidence for coaching and/or supporting athletes in the sport.

Intermediate (Some Previous Coaching): 10:45 AM-12:15 PM
- This session is focused on people who've coached before and want to learn even more about the sport. Sarah and Robyn will guide through a variety of topics such as building offensive and defensive skills, tactical strategies, Long Term Athlete Development connections, and more.

Advanced: 1:00-3:00 PM
- For coaches who have some experiences leading teams and/or coaching in more competitive environments. Robyn and Sarah will discuss error detection and correction of skills, how to properly plan seasons, athlete stress/anxiety, and more.
Come for one session or stay for all three - the choice is yours!
